Reports to: Logistics Lead
Summary
The Logistics Operator is responsible for receiving and processing shipments from external providers, material receiving and material issuing transactions in the material handling system (MHS), cycle counting, warehouse organization to ensure accuracy of available inventory, pulling material for production work orders, and delivering product to the production floor.
This position implements and maintains stocking plans in to maximize efficiency and maintains warehouse cleanliness and organization.
This position also serves as back up to the packaging and shipping function, es, as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Receives material in the MHS and stocks material in appropriate stock location.
- Trained and kept up to date on the packaging / shipping processes. Must be able to perform the packaging / shipping processes when needed.
- Pulling kits and materials for production work orders.
- Issues materials listed on production work orders in the MHS and keeps track of shortages that are to be filled at later time.
- Issues consumables and other parts that are not listed on production work orders in the MHS.
- Performs stock transfers and scrap transactions in the MHS.
- Performs cycle counts and adjusts the MHS inventory as necessary to correct any discrepancies. Investigates inventory variances and corrects process or transaction errors to prevent re-occurrence.
- Responsible for organization and appearance of raw material warehouse.
- Effectively communicate with other departments on materials related issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- High School diploma or eqivalent.
- 1-5 years of warehouse experience, preferred.
- Strong organization skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Proficient with computer (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience using inventory tracking systems a plus.
Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for an office / light manufacturing environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
