Primary Responsibilities
- In-Process Quality Inspection
- Interferometer Inspection
- Final Quality Inspection
- Insertion and Return Loss Testing
- End Face Analysis
- Quality related data collection, entry, and reporting
- Product testing
- Insertion and Return Loss Testing
- Ability to use or learn to use various types of light duty equipment such as:
- Cable measuring and cutting machines
- Cable labeling machines
- Curing ovens
- Connector polishing machines
- Visual inspection equipment
- Ability to use light duty hand tools for cutting, stripping, and mechanical assembly
- Fiber optic cable manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required
- Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to read or learn to read engineering drawings.
- Ability to use or learn to use various forms of measurement and test equipment.
- Strong attention to detail is imperative.
- Ability to use or learn Microsoft Office is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally, depending upon position focus.
- Quality Assurance experience is a plus but not required.
- Experience with SAP Business One is a plus but not required.
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint is a plus but not required.
- Previous fiber optic cabling experience is a plus but not required.
- Previous OptoTest/Viavi/JDSU fiber optic testing equipment experience is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout a large data center environment for extended periods of time.Ability to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach to inspect equipment.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in confined spaces.
Ability to perform detailed visual inspections, including identifying defects, labeling discrepancies, cable routing issues, and equipment.
Ability to distinguish colors for cable identification, status indicators, safety markings, and quality verification activities.
Ability to maintain visual focus on detailed work for prolonged periods.
Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for an office / light manufacturing environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work on short notice.
