About IDS Iceland

Impact Data Solutions in Iceland (IDS Iceland) was founded in the fall of 2024 following the acquisition of a significant portion of Endor’s operations from Syn by the Swedish IT company Hexatronic. Syn is Iceland‘s leading media and telecommunications provider, and a partner of Vodafone Group.

IDS in Iceland provides comprehensive hardware and software solutions for data centers and enterprise hosting centers, covering everything from design to installation. IDS Iceland’s key suppliers and main partners include Arctic Wolf, Cohesity, Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE), Lenovo, Nutanix, Proofpoint, and Pure Storage.

Some of IDS Iceland’s major clients include corporations like the banking companies Arion, Islandsbanki, Kvika, and Reiknistofa bankanna, airline operator Icelandair, pharmaceutical company  Alvotech, the software house DK Software, and data centers Verne Global, Bechtle, and Borealis, as well as state and city-owned power companies Landsnet, RARIK, and Orkuveita Reykjavíkur, and the University of Iceland.

Endor Background

Endor was founded in 2015 by a team that included the Managing Director and Sales Director at IDS Iceland today. Endor provided professional IT services and consulting, particularly focusing on IT infrastructure operations, computing efficiency, and handling ever-growing data volumes. Endor’s solutions could be divided into three areas: hardware and data center solutions, operational solutions, and cloud solutions. Telecom company Syn acquired Endor in 2019 and sold most of the business to Hexatronic in 2024.

Headquarters in Selfoss

IDS Iceland is headquartered in Selfoss. The company’s turnover in 2024 was approximately ISK 250 million, having operated only during the last quarter of the year. Projections for 2025 estimate a turnover of ISK 1.5 billion (m EUR 10).

A subsidiary of IDS UK

IDS in Iceland is a subsidiary of IDS UK, which is also owned by Hexatronic. IDS UK focuses on the design and implementation of data center and hosting solutions for large enterprises. It employs around 250 people. IDS UK is the main support partner and collaborator for IDS Iceland on most larger projects and installations.
